As a child I loved to draw. And I never
lost that love as I grew older (and older!).
I studied drawing and painting with Frank
J. Reilly at New York's Art Students League, serving as one of his class monitors
for two years. Mr. Reilly (as all the students always addressed him) was a marvelous
instructor. I am greatly indebted to him, as he taught me virtually everything I
know about the craft of drawing and painting.
As a representational artist, traditional
craftsmanship is an important element in my work. But good craft is not enough.
I strive to create works that are interesting and attractive. Hopefully some
will find them so.
